This indicates to me that the zeltbahn was made and likely then rejected due to these defects

It does have some obvious patches of surface rust under the black paint but the main components are original

The white cover snaps in and can be switched out for seersucker or blue covers

Tropical / Arctic Gas Cape in Pouch vsale If I were to tryA very nice original example of the tropical arctic gas cape in the original tropical gas cape pouch. This cape was tan on one side for the sand and white on the other for snow. It is dated March of 44. The markings are a bit interesting as this is without a doubt the tropical arctic cape, but the markings omit the tropic bit. Perhaps by this point, it was only important to indicate arctic because of the white side as most equipment by then was tan
