It is made from a lot of small pieces of wood glued together and much of the glue has given out. It has clearly been re glued at some point, so the box is holding together. There are also some holes drilled in the bottom. I believe it was probably mounted to something. Probably a farmer mounting it to a trailer or tractor to use as a tool box.
