The one cloth strap where it connects to the d ring is a little torn but still holding

but the style and construction are identical to war time pumps

This is a tilt hat meaning it should be worn at an angle and not just sit on top of your head like a regular hat

This is a fairly advanced rucksack for its time and really foreshadowed what was to come to backpack design many decades after the war

I am not entirely sure this one is German, The marking is unusual and rather than being a cloth tape measure, it has a steel band. It is used and worn but still in rather good functional condition.
