The leather and construction are consistent with prewar German leatherwork, the pattern and finish quality of the leather. The wallet is well used, seems to have been re stitched along one edge, and does have some popped stitching. The latch works and has two closure positions. The wallet is usable as is, but it might not hurt to go over the stiching again just to make sure it doesn't rip open.
