1916 S Quentin Handkerchief mortar It measures about 2 5/8"WWI 1916 St Quentin 1870 1871 Historische Mhle (Historic Mill) handkerchief. St. Quentin was part of the 1914 Battle of the Somme and near where the German army dug in. It depicts a colorful windmill with a French flag. Perhaps something made by the locals to sell to the soldiers? A very odd and interesting piece of history. It is in overall good condition, but does have some discoloration where it was folded.
