I wouldn't cross the way this band sounds on a brightly lit street at night
It was a chart hit in the UK and was also championed Stateside in clubs such as the mythic 'Paradise Garage' and 'The Loft' by the likes of Larry Levan and David Mancuso
but without sacrificing unity
groovy to stately
The album was recorded live in July of 2015 over 6 days with producer Randall Dunn
Tutankaman taxdaysale I wouldn't cross the wayVinyl LP pressing. 2 long tracks recorded by the Art Ensemble in Paris during June of 1969. This was a tremendously productive time for the group, and it shows in the tracks "The Ninth Room" and "Tthinitthedalen". They run through a gamut of instruments, a wild range of sounds, yet never manage to lose their focus. Great stuff, with a lot of fire, and none of the weak moments that bogged them down later.
