With a wink of the eye, he succeeded in creating an object that became a Rosenthal classic and has been produced for nearly four decades without any changes. Tapio Wirkkala (19151985) worked for Rosenthal from 1956 and designed a number of pieces including the tableware series Century, Polygon and Rotunda as well as the
