Very very few examples of this blanket ever had surged edges and we believe those were either private purchase or something done later perhaps by a unit tailor or by hand in the field

but it is really remarkable to find one like this

Original DAK Rucksack 1942 Unissued tool Needs cleaned and ironedOriginal, unissued German DAK Rucksack in great condition. The only flaw I could find were some very small little rust stains. This is a beautiful example. I did not even want to untie it because I am fairly confident that the knot in the closure is original. Everything about this bag indicates it spent most of the past 80 year in a stack of similar bags and done very little since then. I'm pretty sure that me taking photos of it is the most human
