The Yellow Coneflower is a perennial plant that reaches about 4 ft tall and is very common to the prairies

BACKLIT BEAUTY ALONG THE TRAIL RED I decide to photograph silhouettesAfter photographing the beautiful spring sunrise at Wildflower Lake, I continued on along the trail at Wildflower Park where the early morning sun was still low to the horizon. I was looking for some subjects to photograph along the trail with the sun illuminating those subjects when I came upon this Kentucky coffee tree being backlit with an orange glow from the morning sun. When photographing into the sun, these types of shots are a little tricky
