Our collection of vintage Mangbetu pots have been hand-crafted by the Mangbetu people of the Congo

Due to being hand-woven the baskets have organic shapes at the top and may not be perfectly circular

Each mortar has been used for pounding grain and maize in the communities kitchen

The stools are a strictly personal item and are said to be the seat of the owners soul

This container is hand-carved from indigenous wood by the Karamajong people of Uganda who are livestock farmers

Fang Mask 07 Our collection of vintage MangbetuHand carved from indigenous wood, these Fang mask have the traditional shape of the elongated nose and jaw and are coloured with clays. They are traditionally worn during dances at ceremonies and are thought to frighten and chase away those with evil intentions. Each mask is one of a kind and details will vary slightly. Stand is included. Please note stands may have minor imperfections.
