A delicate rounded shrub with zig zag branches bearing leaves which are pale green when young, turning red and orange in autumn. The flower buds are a light red colour and open to very pretty palest pink simple flowers which smother the shrub in April and May. In time this shrub can reach c 2m x 2m, but it is rather slow growing and often stays much smaller. Any well drained fertile and moist soil
