I headed to the lake where I looked for a good place to set up the tripod and wait for the colors of the sunrise to fill the sky

maple and hophornbeam trees of this deciduous forest at wildcat canyon overlook were terrific and spectacular on this October morning

I didn't have to wait long before those colors of oranges and reds came alive with cumulus clouds picking up those colors along with a low lying mist hovering over the prairie landscape

The fog has an ethereal feeling about it and photographing it in black and white really brings out that feeling
