The sarcophagus is decorated in enamel in the classic Egyptian colours green and white, lapis blue and carnelian red with a pale gold wash. It's hinged at the head, opening to reveal a mummy inside that's also beautifully detailed and enamelled with strips of cloth tied in bows at the back. The sarcophagus itself is, quite unusually, lined with red velvet on the inside and decorated with Horus
