Victorian Dendritic Agate Ring jade An exceptional and HEAVY antiqueGorgeous antique cabochon ring set with an oval dendritic agate. It dates from the early Victorian era, circa 1850, crafted in rich 22 carat yellow gold with beautiful carved shoulders and double prong settings. The stone, a form of chalcedony quartz, is milky and translucent with fern like 'dendrites' permeating through it. The word, dendrite, comes from the Greek (dndron) meaning "tree," and they're iron or manganese inclusions in the agate. Era:
