中国・ノルウェー文化交流組織Northingの出版レーベル。東アジアとノルウェーのアーティストのために新たな対話の機会を創出し、文化のさまざまな側面でコミュニケーションの可能性を広げることを目的としている。Kinakaalはノルウェー語で「白菜」を意味する。ノルウェーでも中国でも、白菜は最も普遍的な野菜で、ノルウェー人と中国人を直観的に結びつけるアイコンとして相応しいと考えたそうだ。そして、Northing はふたつの遠く離れた文化のあいだに隠れた脆弱なつながりを発見できるように、という願いを込めて出版社名を Kinakaal と名付けた。
