I was hoping an eagle might show up and glassed the area to see if I could spot one

and habitat loss

I stalked this Great Blue Heron early in the morning as he stood and waited for breakfast on the Waskesiu River

His colouring was beautiful and was accented by the lush green grass and yellow flowers

as it sticks to their very thick fur

These are two of the four otters that were playing on the ice and allowed me to watch without being hidden. All the time spent waiting for this type of an otter encounter was well worth it!
