Katanga Cross Currency 06 Each mortar has been usedThis Katanga Cross is also known as Handa and has four roughly equal arms each flaring up slightly at the ends. These crosses are made by pouring melted copper into moulds which were made in the sand. Their traditional use was as currency in the late 19th and 20th century and they take their name Katanga, a copper mining region in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Stand is included. Please note stands may have minor imperfections.
